Water Mattress Shoot- Hyrum Dam- Lillie & Theron

I have been dreaming of doing a water mattress shoot for so long and Hyrum Dam was the perfect place to do it! Since seeing some photos from Pinterest and photographers like Sarah Thorpe, I’ve wanted to recreate it somewhere local to Cache Valley! Thankfully, Lillie and Theron were down to do it. We got there right before sunset to get those gorgeous light reflections on the water and created some magic:)

Doing a water mattress shoot is a little unconventional than typical couple shoots, but is perfect to create a memory and is great to capture a more playful side to your relationship!

A lot of the time, guys aren’t too enthusiastic about getting photos done, so doing a fun shoot like this may help convince them! Your shoot can go any direction you want it to, so if you just want to have a date with each other and let me take pictures, do it. Go rollerblading, go stargazing, go rock climbing, go on a picnic, or do whatever you two like to do together.

You can even choose an activity that shows off the story of how you met! My first date with my husband was taking a walk with his dog around a pond and getting ice-cream at Charlie’s in Logan. So, for me, maybe I could do a shoot to commemorate that first date at that spot and recreate it.
