The Grand America Hotel is a perfect spot for a New Year’s Eve Proposal photoshoot. Plans were made months in advance for this special occasion and it came together so beautifully! Robert wanted to surprise his future fiancé with an overnight stay at the hotel, with a little extra surprise of a ring and an engagement shoot. If you’re planning a proposal shoot, maybe consider the Grand America Hotel, and consider some of these tips below!
Here are some tips for planning your surprise proposal:
Know your partner’s preferences: Consider your partner’s personality and what they would appreciate in a proposal. Think about their favorite locations, activities, and preferences for public or private moments.
Choose a meaningful location: Select a location that holds significance for both of you, such as where you had your first date or a place that is special to your relationship. It will add an extra layer of sentimentality to the moment. Just because you haven’t been there, doesn’t mean it’s not a good spot though. For this Grand American Hotel proposal, it was just as special because it was an effort of love to plan out a little getaway trip and new memories can be created that way too.
Plan the timing: Choose a time when your partner is relaxed and not distracted. Avoid proposing during stressful or busy periods. Consider their schedule and ensure they have time to fully enjoy and process the moment.
Personalize the proposal: Incorporate personal touches that reflect your relationship. It could be incorporating favorite songs, inside jokes, or sentimental items into the proposal to make it unique and special.
Capture the moment: Arrange for someone to discreetly capture photos or a video of the proposal. Hiring a professional photographer or asking a trusted friend can ensure you have beautiful mementos to cherish and share with family and friends. That’s where I come in! Practice what you want to say: While it’s important to speak from the heart, practicing what you want to say beforehand can help calm your nerves and ensure you express your feelings clearly and sincerely.
Keep it a surprise (if that’s what they prefer): If your partner enjoys surprises, try to keep your plans under wraps. Involve close friends or family members who can help with logistics without giving away the surprise.
Stay true to yourself: It’s easy to get caught up in elaborate proposals seen in movies or on social media, but remember to stay true to your relationship and your partner’s preferences. A heartfelt and genuine proposal will mean more than an extravagant display if it aligns with who you are as a couple.
Remember, the most important aspect of a proposal is your love and commitment to one another. Be authentic, considerate, and focus on creating a moment that will be meaningful for both of you!
