This Logan Temple wedding one for the books! The past couple years in Logan have been warmer with less snow, so it almost doesn’t look like winter. Despite being able to see the grass, we still were able to catch some beautiful bridals in the morning in the snowy mountains. Cold days like this are still happy ones!
Planning a temple wedding during a cold weather season can be a still be a great experience! Here are some tips to help you and your guests stay warm and comfortable on a cold wedding day:
Layer your attire: Choose wedding attire that allows for layering. Consider wearing a wrap, shawl, or faux fur stole over your dress, and have your bridesmaids do the same.
Opt for long-sleeved dresses or suits: If possible, consider choosing wedding dresses with long sleeves or thicker materials. For the groom and groomsmen, opt for suits or tuxedos made of heavier fabrics to provide insulation.
Provide warm accessories: Offer warm accessories like gloves, scarves, or blankets for your guests. You can have a basket of cozy items available near the ceremony or reception area for anyone who needs them. Between pictures, have someone have a blanket to keep you warm! Having hand warmers is a great trick to stick in your hands and your shoes to avoid purple hands during photos.
Let your guests know that there is a warm visitor center for those not attending the ceremony: Your guests have a comfortable space to stay warm even if they’re waiting until after your ceremony to see you! The temple staff will be happy to show your guests where they can stay until you finish up.
Timing and scheduling: Plan your wedding day timeline with the cold weather in mind. Consider having a later temple ceremony so it’s a little warmer outside! I can usually keep family photos around 30 minutes to keep things moving quickly in the cold weather. Big groups go first so we can get the most people to a warm spot!
Embrace the season: Embrace the charm of a cold weather wedding. Incorporate seasonal elements into your decor, such as winter florals, cozy lighting, and warm color schemes. Create a warm and inviting atmosphere that celebrates the beauty of the season.
All in all, having a winter wedding is nothing to be afraid of! We embrace the cold and embrace the joy that comes.
