This Redwood Forest photoshoot was a dream come true for me! The Redwood National Park is a stunning location with lots of ambient light that creates magic.
Between the light rays, the dust specks lighting up in the haze, the old growth, and ferns everywhere, I felt so lucky to shoot here with such a beautiful couple! I feel like these pictures were straight out of a fairytale.
We were able to spend the night at Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park and camp among huge trees like these ones! The Redwood Forest is pretty vast, so there are lots of campgrounds, but out of the couple that I’ve been to, this one stands as a favorite. And for a photoshoot, there is some close trails to this spot such as Tall Trees Grove Trailhead.
If you’re traveling out of town, Cresent City is one of the closest cities that has some hotels and Air BnB’s. And if you’re planning on getting bridal pictures done in one of those, it’s always fun to invite your photographer to snap some getting ready pics too;)
For your Redwood Forest photoshoot, mornings or early evenings are your best shot for lighting! We shot these photos around 4 hours before sunset, but the morning light is incredible too. On hazy mornings, you’ll get those stunning sun rays peeking through the trees and it’s absolute magic.
If you want to create some more magic here with me, fill out my contact form! Although I am based out of Northern Utah, the Redwoods is somewhere I don’t think I’ll ever complain about having to go back. The Redwood Forest is an incredible location to not only connect with the one you love, but capture the magic of your relationship.
